Reddit Conversions API
Server-side conversions to your Reddit pixel, matched by hashed email and phone, the rdt_cid click id and the pixel's visitor id.
Reddit gets both halves. The PixelFox tag installs the Reddit Pixel and fires each
conversion from the browser; the backend sends the same conversion to the Conversions
API (Ads API v3). Both carry the event uuid as Reddit's conversionId, with the same
event type, so Reddit counts the pair once. Page visits are browser-only.
The two tiles under Integrations share one connection: Reddit Pixel (the pixel id, browser side) and Reddit Conversions API (the token, server side). Either side can be switched off on its own.
If your site already runs the Reddit Pixel, the tag leaves it alone and fires nothing of its own, so nothing is sent twice from the browser.
Credentials
| Field | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| Pixel ID | Reddit Ads → Events Manager. The id of your event source (t2_… or a2_…). |
| Conversion access token | Events Manager → Conversions API → Generate access token. Reddit shows it once; it does not expire. Stored encrypted. |
| Test ID | Optional. Events Manager → Event testing. While set, events land in the test tab and are not counted — clear it when you go live. |
Connect under Integrations → Reddit Pixel and Reddit Conversions API.
Browser side
The pixel is loaded only after advertising consent (ad_storage granted) when consent
mode is on. It is initialised with the PixelFox visitor id as externalId, and with the
email and phone from pixelfox.identify() once known, normalised the same way the server
normalises them before hashing (email lowercased, phone in E.164), so the browser and
server copies describe the same person. With a first-party tracking domain the pixel
script is served through it (/rd.js).
Matching
Each event carries whichever of these exist: email and phone, hashed with
Reddit's own rules (email lowercased, +alias and punctuation removed from the local
part; phone in E.164), the rdt_cid click id captured from Reddit ad landings and
kept for the session, the pixel's _rdt_uuid visitor id when the Reddit Pixel runs on
the site, an external id (your customer id, hashed, or the PixelFox visitor id), plus IP,
user agent and screen size.
A malformed visitor id would make Reddit reject the whole batch, and a malformed click id would be flagged as an invalid match key, so both are validated and dropped from the event rather than sent.
